Poorly constructed Sunday evening post, in which I coin a new word by accident

C & I had our first big lunch today for people other than family since we moved to the new digs. We put in a shitload of work on Saturday to get the place clean (had the roof power-cleaned on Friday so there was muck everywhere) and had the crew over today for drinkies and a big roast. It didn't go down to badly either. There are a few... how shall I put this... characters in the social group. The good news is that they were all very well behaved. It was actually very civilized and I found myself completely enjoying myself for a change. I don't know what has happened to me over the years but I'm not the gregarious chap I once was. I'm much better at the one-on-one or small group thing. And while today wasn't huge, it was kind of big for me since I've been "out" a grand total of once since M came along three months ago. It's been a head-down, get-the-job-done few months and C & I sat down and looked at some photos of the house just now and realised what a ficking amazing job we've done (that was a typo just now but I kind of like the sound of ficking... it has the emphasis of 'fucking' but is much less threatening). New kitchen, new paint job, new lawn, new furniture (which you may think isn't much work but some of that flat-packed stuff was ficking heavy and took ficking hours to put together). I really should end this paragraph; it's going on a bit. So I'm looking forward to the days when it's not quite as cold and damp so we can do some more entertaining here. When the two little angels are a bit more manageable I might look into getting a social life back again. Won't that be nice.
