Hi

Just popping my head up, y'know, while I'm awake and not carrying out some order given to me by the boss, or by she who must be obeyed. Actually, it's not that bad. The orders aren't annoying but there's always a lot to do, at work and at home. And the sleep, while not abundant, is just enough to get by on. And in case you're wondering what all this cryptic rubbish is about, I've become the father of another very small person that cries from time to time, often at 4 am. But there are many good things about life. My job has officially (apparently) changed from being editor to half editor, half photographer. While this is good because it lets me indulge one of my hobbies, all the photos I'm taking are work-related and so not very arty or otherwise inspiring in a personal-life/observations-on-the-world/media-gripes kind of context, and it does seem to mean I'm doing something that at least feels like twice the work. It is, however giving me the chance to do a bit of studio portraiture, which is good experience. Other nice things include getting used to life in the hills: gorgeous this time of year, though it does have its trials, such as getting used to the shin splints I'm getting running up a hill to catch the 8:09 every morning. That said, I love that my train ride to and from work happens soon after and before sunrise and sunset. I'm really enjoying just watching the way the light changes and fills up the carriage as it changes direction. It's quite beautiful and gives me something to enjoy when I'm sans libre. I might just mention too that this blog isn't really a high priority at the moment (the new header took me oh, 4 minutes to do) as there's too much else going on. I would like to pour heaps of time into something more arty, be it music, or writing, or photography, but I'm busy earning money to feed my family/pay of my house/support my wife's shopping habits. There's not a lot of me time right now. But that will change. Everything does.
