Snuffleuppigus or Snuffleuffigus?I told her I'd always thought it was Snuffleuppagus (spelled with Ps but not with an I and definitely not Fs). I was pretty sure too. I remember as a kid hearing people saying it with Fs and thinking 'That's not right'. C was adamant that it was 'uffagus' and I got another txt from Sal saying the family was split, with her and me thinking 'uppagus' and our older sister preferring 'uffagus' and our brother uncontactable, probably due to all that sleep deprivation he's currenlty enjoying. I watched an episode of Sesame Street this morning and heard both Big Bird and Snuffy saying his name. It sounded pretty distinctly like 'uppagus'. So to be sure, when I got to work, I did a quick search for Sesame Street characters and found the official SS site. I wasn't sure where to find Snuffy's name spelled out so thought I'd do the 35th Anniversary trivia game for a bit of fun. Not only did it provide me with the answer but Oscar's commentary is just too funny. Go there. Do it. And don't try to answer quickly or you'll miss what Oscar is saying. And what ever happened to Don Music? He was a classic! Slamming his head into the piano because he couldn't get things to rhyme. Interesting aside: one of the questions asked where the creators got Ernie and Bert's names. Well, taxi driver Ernie Bishop and Officer Bert were characters in the Frank Capra movie It's a Wonderful Life, which starred James Stewart. I had to answer the questions from that round three times till I got it right.
