Soooo jealous

The girl I work with just got her computer upgraded. All the PCs here are upgraded every three years, which is pretty good compared to other places I've worked (from home, for instance). The PC I use is two years old and it's still great. Space on my Cdrive has been my only issue but I have 2 hard drives and I managed to reinstall some non-speed dependent software on D and backup a lot of old files to CD. It's still fast. I can have 8 applications open (as I have now) and not notice any slowness unless I'm working with large graphics, and even then, it's either bearable or treatable (by changing to draft quality display). My monitor was replaced a year or so ago so that's fine and with the broadband internet thingy that everyone has here, I've had no cause for complaint. It's still a hell of a lot faster than my box at home so it's still relatively good to work on. Now I expected she would get a new burner/DVD rom drive and an LCD monitor but that's fine. I knew she would be getting XP, which I'm really rather ambivalent about (even though I'm using NT). But I just found out what I don't have. Adobe Creative Suite - the whole kit and shit! And I'm stuck with InDesign2 and a rusty Mac G4 with Quark4 and Photoshop6. And It'll be like November before I get my new Mac.
