Quick off the mark

I know this gets mentioned a lot and people are always a bit 'oh, that's ridiculous' about it... but last week (ie. the 2nd week in January) there were Hot Cross Buns in Woolworths. Now not that I'm religious, which I'm not, and besides the fact that Xmas and Easter are both pagan festivals appropriated by the Christians, it does seem bizarre to me that two weeks after we're celebrating the birth of Christ, we're commemorating him being nailed to a couple of planks of wood. (When I typed 'couple' just now, it first came out as copule... it's one of those typos I do a lot)
